We accepted Rael (9 years old) and Jackson (11 years old) into our family. The brother and sister were left orphans and lived for 5 years with their widowed aunt, who also has her own daughter.
They lived in a very dangerous region, where cases of rape and disappearances of children were common; drugs, alcoholism, as well as a critical level of ecology and drinking water.
The aunt shared that she prayed to God for help for the children. She worked hard trying to make ends meet and could not protect them from all the dangers.
